… This ‘excited and alive’ poem, to a Miss Julie Petullo, was the first and last time I ever sent any work out to publishers. Ever. It placed 28th out of 5000+ entries in the Judson Jerome Poet Corner contest in the Writers Magazine in 1972, or ‘73. I self-published it in ‘74. The party continues. And, lest I forget to mention, in 2024, and in honor of my 50th self-publishing anniversary, I created a coloring book, for my 90 year old mother, featuring my own hand-drawn scritchy doodles. That can be found with my other Amazon books at the link: https://www.amazon.com/author/davidlwhite My first book was set in my own hand; a grapho-analysts puzzle book. The coloring-book outline doodles are also hand drawn. The bonus of the most recent hand done master was a minor epiphany into the expanded ideas of trash. Artists need boredom. We need time where all the stimulation dies down and we have to face ourselves. This is where the ideas are hiding. Jeanette Goulart goes on to add these words: I wouldn’t exactly call it boredom but I would call it daydreaming or taking time to just be. It’s an artists path to self love for sure. There is magic there. You are allowing your intuitive voice to bubble up and be heard. The creative child in you! … Spiritual awakening is a remembering. It is not becoming something that we are not. It is not about transforming ourselves. It is not about changing ourselves. It is a remembering of what we are, as if we’ve known it long ago and had simply forgotten. At the moment of this remembering, if the remembering is authentic, it’s not viewed as a personal thing. There is really no such thing as a personal awakening, because (personal) would imply separation. (personal) would imply that it is me or the ego and awakens or becomes enlightened. But in a true awakening, it is realized very clearly that even the awakening itself is not personal. It is universal spirit or universal consciousness that wakes up to itself. Rather than the me waking up, what we are wakes up from the Me. What we are wakes up from the seeker. What we are wakes up from the seeking. – Adyashanti. … It is the ego who wants to get rid of the ego through spiritual practices. … As you quiet your mind, you begin to see the nature of your own resistance, more clearly, struggles, inner dialogues, the way in which you procrastinate and develop passive resistance against life. As you cultivate the witness, things change. You don’t have to change them. Things just change. – Ram Dass Thank you for visiting. Take some time for your self. © 2025 David L White |

Use the suggestion: infinite intelligence leads me and guides me in all my ways. – Seth … The longer I live, the more beautiful it becomes. If you foolishly, ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life. – Frank Lloyd Wright … Patient is not passive, on the contrary, it is concentrated strength. … Just because others are being bad to you doesn’t mean you should sacrifice your energy in return. It’s not worth it. Rise above it and focus on what makes you better. You have the power to control how you react, and choosing not to engage as a powerful statement in itself. It’s hard, but know that your energy and time is precious, not everyone deserves that. You were not born to be part of drama. You are meant for greatness. It’s time to live up to that potential. … You cannot suffer the past or future because they do not exist. What you are suffering is your memory and your imagination. ~ Osho … Smiling can activate the vagus nerve, the longest nerve in the body, and send signals to the brain that we are happy and relaxed. ~ Deepak Chopra … I can’t take your old beliefs from you. If I were to want that, it would be ahead of your want, which is fine unless I hold the expectation that you should travel where I travel or that you even could or that it’s even time. Nothing ahead of its time, and I don’t deal in time. To enter time and attempt to manipulate it as a few tile and possible expectation. I care about what you care about, no more, no less. And that is care. No pushing, no pulling, no tug-of-war, just holding, loving. ~ Byron Katie … Happy Friday !!! Thank you for visiting. Take some time for your self. © 2025 David L White |
