Find and share

Find and share

Purpose and reason
and meaning and life,
English was not Picasso’s
first tongue.

Occasionally we may
embellish when handling
the microphone.

Find your gifts. Plural.
They are many.
Share them widely.

Hasta luego. Adios.

2/19/22 Poem

Take a moment

 Take a moment

You take your body to the doctor
and your car into the shop
and you know some time
this all gonna stop, at least
for a little bit while you check in.
Where are you dear heart?

Let’s begin …

… again

now more often
tap YOU in the box
smudge the calendar
mustache the clocks

We have a sad imagination
about doing some thing
some day.

It really isn’t the day,
ever, anyway. Not a
whole day.

So. Take a moment.

You.

Make a little mess

 Make a little mess

Artfulness and graceful stumbles
Lost and found, safe and sound, play,
explore, discover, entertain yourself.
Make a little mess.

Paradox Quandary

 Paradox Quandary

At first. At first.
Maybe when you
move farther into
everything you may
see it all works out
at exactly the pace

More often perhaps

 More often perhaps

Query your own counsel.
In the quiet. And say your
own name out loud.

Even in your mind.
Say your name with intention.
What do you think?

I think you know.
Lots of times many of us don’t
get to say it and see it and have it
stick, be heard, or acknowledged.

More often perhaps in the quiet

Hobo Daze Parade FAQ

Hobo Daze Parade FAQ

Question: someone said I have to go alone. How can I do that? Do I have to go alone? Can I not … bring someone? Well, technically they’d be bringing me , cuz, they’re driving and …

A: Yes, others can travel with you, as much as you are able to leave yourself at home. Alone. Bottom line is this: only one on the ride at a time; you or yourself. Same for the others.

49th /50th Annual *
Hobo Daze Parade
11 am at The River
April 12th .

*nobody signed anything.

Note: because we don’t remember the official original date this year, 2022, is the first annual year-long parade. The way recordkeeping goes on around here I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re still running a parade in 2024. We can afford to go a little over just to make sure. Plenty of time to get lost.

FAQ? Parade?

Ok. Ok. Circus Rodeo, too. The point is play time, get lost. Make something that surprises even you. Put it on the calendar. That’s a start.

Remember that we overprinted the Rain Checks. Got plenty. A lifetime. Stop by the ‘you are here now’ tent and get a fist full for the whole family.

Finally, just because there is no parade, is no reason not to get lost by yourself though. Take a break.

Weathering the weather

 Weathering the weather

The weather ever worsening
The food, grid, and money
go down. Collapse is on us.
Do you feel that shaking?

Some talk in the geologics
about tacking Anthropocene
to the Holocene; the marking
for the epoch can be found at
the radioactive level beginning
near the Second World War.

The stink of extinction
is on us and I doubt many will
care what the end is called,
was called. It’s getting harder
to breathe the lies and denial.

And what of humanity,
all life forms, and this idea
about Love winning all?

Perhaps if we fess up to the story.

Thank you. Good work.

GoodWorkCards

refers mainly to the postcards and book marks with words of praise for foreign language teachers to give to students.

In English, the evolution moved mainly to thank you and good work. We found that almost everybody lights up with a little attention. The cards are to pay it forward.

The latest issue will be hand drawn, see lower right, to give them a more personal look. And I'm starting to rethink what I mean by gigahug.com.

The Way Mine

Words sparingly like spice oil

pictures paint the cook book

sometimes when we find each other

we sit and stare and look

though I'm ever skin and bone

I am still amazed

I can spit and wink and grin

and listen, listen ... out comes praise.

Trucking the overburden

I have loved quotations and/or memes, mostly of the psycho spiritual variety, all of my life. And, ever since Facebook groups, I have been collecting them and making screenshots. I have over 10,000. I’m running out of drive space.

And the sad thing is they’re not categorized or searchable. All of a sudden it feels like a waste. Especially when hundreds of people are already doing this. I have to look up Emerson anyway every time.

Some I’ve collected are here and Pinterest and here finally links to some of my favorite authors.

Finally I see a glimpse in the mirror ball and hope to free up some space in the spiritual junk drawer.

There are gemstones in the mountains. I need to truck off the overburden and drill down.

Sample only! 10,000 memes - non-searchable and uncategorized.

Essence of you

Essence of you

The essence of you
simmering away,
stewing at times

perhaps

Bubbling for clarity,
a reduction of sorts,
bone broth or

a consommé
radiant with the
flavors you bring

to the table.
Thank you for
your offering

with grace.

A book like a bush where
quotations are the berries,
squeezed for oils, edible

It could get complicated

You have heard

you are what
you eat.

You eat.
You
are.

For a more complicated version simply continue thinking.

Freight on board

Freight on board

Luggage from your mother,
Hammer from your dad
And some semblance of them
both between and
good and bad.

Museum of my statuary
I greet and pose and
Blow their nose or
Straighten their capes
At least

A little fuss, for some
company’s coming.

Find out where it is
when you hear
yourself say
“Yes, this is it.”

All aboard!
Conveyances leaving
for Yes momentarily
and on the hour by
direct route or any
of several scenic
distractions. Get
your tickets.

Inviting you

 Inviting you

At times a line between
this and that seems
razor thin.

Continue to increase
magnification on the
razor and watch
entire worlds
emerge.

Other possible vistas,
foods, languages,
customs
inviting
you

Quasi-crotchety

 Quasi-crotchety

I hope I don’t get overly crotchety.
It’s a distinct possibility. I seem to be
leaning in that direction. It’s sort of like
"I said - there’s nothing to say." And it’s
making me grumpy but we somehow
still need to find out if there’s nothing to say.

I wasn’t listening for a long time.
Now it’s all I can do. And I’ve discovered I
need quiet in order to decipher the message,
listen to the music.

Little Tin Cup

 Little Tin Cup

I should … you say and it seems reasonable.
I do like to make a list- nearly first. And soon
I began to need more paper and pencils.
I should … you say.

You know this little tin cup is going to require
an organ grinder and a monkey, don’t you?

It also requires the bare minimum performance
venue and the aura of presence and possibly a schedule.

All very entertaining. Folks will love the monkey. Flirty little thief.

It’s just my opinion

 It’s just my opinion

You might say, of course.
I certainly don’t mean to
diminish my opinion at all
but neither do I wish to
engage in weaving a story
so plausible that you would
wish to join circles with me.

There’s lots to do here now
and somehow it all gets done.

Chatter quotes and reviews

Chatter,

The Voice in Our Head,
Why it Matters,
and How to Harness It

by Ethan Kross,  Psychologist, Neuroscientist - 2021

Quotes - Amazon Reviews

Well. Wow.  The voice in our head.
A fine companion to my lifelong metaphor Alphabet Zoupe.

Not too much science. A little 'how to' be more alert to hearing yourself.
And a few tips on how to stir your soup.

Opus Zoupa

Facebook, in all its kind heartedness that goes into the algorithms, which are designed not much differently than when I choose pie over cake, finally delivered up Rupert Spira, Neville Goddard, Anthony DeMello*, and Jane Roberts with her channeling of the Seth Material.

Seth resonated radiantly with me. The first thing that jumped out is that you, or we, create our own reality. I soon realized I’ve been saying a very similar thing with my own metaphor of Alphabet Soup
since 1974.

Soup turned to Zoupe which turned to Zoupa; the present form. And Zoupa simply means: add more joy. And if joy is overly two dimensional you may spice it up with exuberance. Be passionate on purpose. I find it exhilarating.

Let’s not spend a lot of time talking about theoretical passion. Let’s just do the bio chemical uplift. Two minutes. Joy breathing.

We create our own reality. And if you lean towards “NO" then we are in the notes section of the library. If you lean towards “YES" then things begin to look like Yes.

That might be it for the moment.

*Anthony DeMello, or his foundation, has recently released his latest compilation titled: Stop Fixing Yourself. Lovely. I got it immediately. No need even to read the book. The title alone shines enough light for me to see my way.

February 10, 2022 Poem

PVA, my dear

 February 11, 2022

My dear, long love, Pat,

I didn’t realize till a couple of days ago, when listening to Whistle Down the Wind Youtube, by Joan Baez, that in my heart mind somewhere the three of us, at least, are together. Thanks also to Tom Waits for the lyrics.

I was on the freeway and outward bound there was something about the title track that knocked me off track. I got up, dusted myself off and had a little cry.

Soon after the freeway moment I wrote the poem "Okay". I think it’s for you. I did not know that until right this minute. Surprise to me, too.

Joan Baez has sung me to tears since her first album. I am by no means a collector but … there are always those songs; So we’ll go no more a’rovin’, Diamonds and Rust, And the band played Waltzing Matilda … honestly I’ve missed lots of her career.

Anyway, it occurred to me, finally obvious, that whatever days there are, may they be gently invested with fierce love, focus, and powerful living.

It seems as though I may have been light, cute, and amused, when suddenly the wish to create moments and share them, whispers seductively.

Blessings ever,

David

Verandananda, Swami of the Front Porch Swing had been my brain child, alter ego, imaginary friend for some time before we ever arrived in Tepoztlán MX on Fathers Day in 2000. When we, me and the skeleton, met it was a match made ... it was a marinade in Heaven. Someone to stir my Alphabet Zoupe and ladle out the quotations.

I've been saving quotations forever. Finally I have figured out that I have not saved them in categories or any searchable fashion. All of a sudden it seems like a waste of time.

The links above may begin to demonstrate the edibles I have picked on my path to the test kitchen.

Buen provecho.
