began when I became willing to offer a reminder to you, of the realization of oxytocin that bubbles up between willing participants of a long hug.

I think that it is the relaxed breathing that occurs,
given the time span of a twenty or thirty second hug.

I've been there. Wonderful.

I wrote out a one-minute Joy Breath meditation to help spread that word. Audio at Substack.

And I say, you might just be able to stoke the fires on your own.

P.S. I also use as a launch pad and sometimes leave notes here for specific people.

Blissful biochemistry. Mix up a batch!

Glimmers are good. Blissings might be nice, too.

Update: June 23, 2024

I am glad to hear of glimmers; those moments that bring joy, instead of triggers, which simply add cortisol and adrenaline, and aggravate the parasympathetic nervous system.

The word, and idea of, Boosters speaks directly to the availability of onboard biochemical blast we get from dopamine, endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin. It was the long hug idea that lead me to consider that we have all of it right here.

If you can re-member, put back into the body, through your rich and robust

Update: April 30 2024

The word glimmers has found favor with some recently who have been promoting words that have an effect opposite of triggers. Let us be more alert to joy.

Gathering glimmers is fine for the moment. I will keep my eyes open.

Update: Feb 15 2024

When I offer I hope to generate joy. I want to remind us of the hug we’ve heard of: oxytocin, baby.

I’m not picky really … we could dump them similars together: seratonin, dopamine, and more.

I wish to remind you of a biochemical boost, sometimes mere seconds long, merely because I said so.

Because _ YOU _ said so.

We know that words can trigger us. Words can also prompt us into better feeling states. Generate joy biochemically. On purpose. Because someone said so. Say so. You.

Update 12/02/23
Lately I'm writing on the back of my Scritchies as if I'm Ambassador Hallmark.

Update 11/14/23

Gig. A. Hug.

The gig is the practice. It is what we do. The hug refers to the long hug that releases oxytocin.

If trauma resides in the body, as van der Kolk writes in The Body Keeps the Score ... so does joy and similar sentiments.

In order to access some uplevel chemistry, you can, when no hugs are immediately available, reembody your own memories. Call the memory back into your bloodstream and feel like you felt when you were making the memory. I can make myself tingle just thinking about it. Oooh.

This may require that you tell yourself a story. Those are magic words; biochemistry and black magic. The black of magic refers to evil or selfish motivations.

Okay, then ... selfish it is. You probably need more you anyway.

We definitely need an incantation - you in your own voice. Maybe we need a potion; a little something to moisten the lips. Make a note.

How about a group hug before we go. Me ... here and now. You also ... here and now.

Lovely wonderful.

P.S. I will mention this gig a hug dot com because it's easy. It leads here to one of my passions which may also benefit you. I do not know.

Even the idea of being a specialist gives me the willies.

En joy.

I do some speaking of words at

Cape Cod

A hug can be a lovely thing. We can get very near to that emotional chemical state on our own. Feel it. Practice.

Maybe we can do a chat. Joy Breath. Shock Therapy.

Otherwise ... art, poetry, satire, PsycheSpiritu meme-ish-ness. Energy healing.

And Alphabet Zoupe - OMG the soup. Made fresh moment by moment with bubbling waters from the Fountain of Youth.

Update March 19 2023 I do a solo tune at church on my 70th birthday. Youtube here.

February 1st, 2023

We’d like to be more accepting and nonjudgmental. We might like to allow for whatever it is. And we can do that certain times and places.

I think most of us could use a little more air time where we don’t get shut down.

If you need to rant and rave please hang up and Dial-Your-Therapist.

Here, in this shock therapy space, we’re gonna do intensive joy. For a few minutes. On purpose. Because it feels good.

More importantly than you talking to me is you talking to anyone that encourages you to open up and gives you space.

Thinking about it at all … might get a little breeze under you wings.

AND, I’d ask you to think about making some notes. It’s your show and spotlight.  I have a front row seat. I’m gonna hoot, clap, and encourage you.

As I said … I think most of us could use a little more positive, open air time where we don’t get shut down.

And if you make some notes the preparation alone may make you feel better.

We can actually chat if you like. Chatting might be nice. Five minutes might be a good start. I’d like to offer 15 to 20 minute visits. By appointment.

Joy Breath

You smile a little bit to yourself
when you realize you just agreed
to spend a minute breathing and
remembering joyful moments.
Mmm … the smiling feels good.

You’ve probably heard …
we're not getting enough ...
as it is. Hugs, that is.

Slow, gentle, deep breaths ...
you … remembering ...
joyful moments.

Hopefully, they may
spill over you as first
you felt them and you
feel the flowing again.

Breathe in and in and in
until the tippy top
two puffs of air are
perched at the top
top of your nostrils
wondering whether
they will be invited in
or not. Let go. Breathe
out and down until
you gently squeeze
your lung belly empty.

Remember another joy.
In. In. In. Out. Again.
All over. All over.

Thank you.
Good work.
Begin again.
Using our own joy breath
we are microdosing oxytocin
for a supplemental self hug
simply because it feels good.

I’m going to stop talking soon.
Carry-on as you wish.
Stop. Start. Remember again.

Amp it up!

The most recent addition to the Gig A Hug note pile is this:
Supplemental Hug along with the Joy Breath Meditation.
I continue to stir the soup looking for what when I find it.

I'll write that out soon. Perhaps post an audio link.

Gig A Hug. Energy amplified. Available. Depersonalized.
Brand new. Stay tuned. Subscribe at:

One of my favorite old Chinese quotations. "Don't believe what they say. Go see."
I edited it ... of course. "Believe or don't believe. Go see anyway."

I may never have this gigahug deal figured out. To focus more often on up- level energy by simply remembering the terminology; wonder, joy, exuberance, love love love.

Yes. I know. Life's a bitch and tomorrow's another day. Yet, here and now, while there is no joy all the time, as I write these words, there is no evil in my house. But there is plenty of room for practicing balance. Now; the micro-momentary present is what we have to play with. Let's play.

This feels like bumper sticker oversimplification. We start where we are.

Anyway, send prayers, as gifts, to the living biosphere around the bench. It can act as a stopping point to give and receive. It's a good place to admire the lake, too.

The gift is in the giving. There are prayers here waiting for you. Because I said so.

Earlier version of gig definition ...

By GigaHug I mean to share energy briefly;
clothed, seated, or standing, probably in public or small group.

Hugs are said to deliver oxytocin in 20 to 30 seconds, or
three to five deep, gentle breaths. I think it probably
works best for those folks up for it. It's not a challenge
or a demand for proof. If you're ready ....

Guided Hug Meditation

I’d like to share two minutes with you… We are collecting three memories to share
over three breaths or a minute - whatever feels best.
You are safe and sound in the here and now, yes?

Wonderful. Relax. Feel your breath. // Feel your chest rise and fall.
Let your shoulders drop.// Bring to mind a time of great joy.
Smile at the memory.// Smiling, feel your eyebrows and forehead loosen. Relax.
If you feel safe you may close your eyes if you wish.
To your memory of joy add a time of awesome wonder or beauty.

Gentle breath.

And Love. Remember love? Remember great love? Oh, my my.
Deep and gentle, we are going to take three full breaths in and out.
Pull your tummy at the end of exhale for more room to inhale.
At the peak of inhalation, remember the joy, the wonder, and the love.

Exhaling, one at a time, let the memory melt down slowly throughout your entire body.
Three wonderful memories shared over three breaths.
I am done talking now for a minute.

Let's begin.

Thanks. I feel better already. Call it what you will; energy work, healing, etc. Thanks for the hug.
Many Blessings,

David L White

light massage, Jin Shin, Quantum Touch, etc., can offer
