Magic Words
The gift that keeps on giving;
a poem that may or may not
be done. Add a word?
Maybe.
Magic.

re: Friday, September 11, 2020
I'm darting around behind
commemorations hoping to
not be seen.
My trumpet is in the shop
getting waxed and buffed.
I'm not feeling the tune.
A beautiful gray day.
A poem by P.J. Rockwell scrolls by.
I cried. I'll show you where.
What if nothing else ?
This. Only. No more.
A song by Willie pops up in my face.
Something about the ease of older age.
Nothing matters.
Except I cried.
Again.
Had enough.
Blessed.

THE LOST KISS
i approach your face with mine
at that oblique angle indicating
parting friends that kiss the air
next to a cheek turned just so,
doing this with all the passion
of a city clerk filling out a land
deed or transferring some title
that specifically outlines every
boundary between properties.
this seems fair. like the shared
air we breathe in the moments
as brief as comfort allows, but
shallow too just as our mutual
expectations in love assuring
us how safe such conditional
affections can be. yet oh how
i miss the lost kiss, passions
unrestrained as a child's joy
at anything new. or perhaps
this is what we are seeking,
to replace past puberty and
its demands. the unabashed
return to the thrill of playing,
the flutter in the stomach as
the swing hits the peak and
we hope to stay forever like
my lips do now not wanting
to leave your face or its air.

It Gets Easier
by Willie Nelson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTiFS9g-v_o
https://mojim.com/usy106711x42x10.htm
It gets easier, as we get older
It gets easier to say "not today"
It gets easier, as we get older
To say "go away, not today"
I don't have to do
One damn thing
That I don't want to do
Except for missing you
And that won't go away
It gets easier to say "some other time"
It gets easier to tell the world to wait
It gets easier to watch the world fly by
And tell it, "I will catch up, but not today"
I don't have to do
One damn thing
That I don't want to do
Except for missing you
And that won't go away
Except for missing you
And that won't go away

Elsewhere Apparently
More frequently I find myself safe and sound
with here and now … on purpose
Look about and breathe
Elsewhere apparently. Could have fooled me
Resting and recuperating from excessive internal
and external explanations, demanding descriptions,
and definitions, of everything that is not - apparently
- here and now
Content, happy, and satisfied enough with this
self life story; multi-dimensional, eternal, ephemeral.
Here again, here again, now, now, now.
Elsewhere apparently. Could have fooled me
And you? How I would love to sit with you and see
your smiling eyes, go for the giggle and guffaw,
you know how we do.
To see your favorite color. Hear your long full name.
Smell, touch, taste, the stories of your many
collections; people, places, things …. that
Elsewhere apparently. Could’ve fooled me
Editing the ending: How I would love to sit with you,
simplifies to: I love you, and as you and I fall away,
there is little left but love - here again, now.

Hi. My name is David L White.
Glad to be here with you.
More, if you wish, at David L White .ORG
I’d like to share two minutes with you…
We are collecting three memories to share
over three breaths or a minute - whatever feels best.
You are safe and sound in the here and now, yes?
Wonderful. Relax. Feel your breath.
Feel your chest rise and fall.
Let your shoulders drop.
Bring to mind a time of great joy.
Smile at the memory.
Smiling, feel your eyebrows and forehead loosen. Relax.
If you feel safe you may close your eyes if you wish.
To your memory of joy add a time of awesome wonder or beauty.
Gentle breath.
And Love. Remember love? Remember great love? Oh, my my.
Deep and gentle, we are going to take three full breaths in and out.
Pull your tummy at the end of exhale for more room to inhale.
At the peak of inhalation, remember the joy, the wonder, and the love.
Exhaling, one at a time, let the memory melt down slowly throughout your entire body.
Three wonderful memories shared over three breaths.
I am done talking now for a minute.
Let's begin.
…
…
…
Thanks. I feel better already.
Call it what you will; energy work, healing, etc.
Thanks for the hug.
Many Blessings,
David L White
